It's only been a week since Madame Tussauds Las Vegas unveiled their new wax figure of Aaliyah. However, it appears as if they've already had problems keeping fans from altering the piece.

Earlier today, the the late singer's estate took to the official Aaliyah Twitter account to ask fans to "respect" the statue, which is a recreation of her look from her iconic 2001 music video for "Try Again."

"We ask kindly that anyone visiting the Aaliyah wax figure @TussaudsVegas please treat it with respect, this has been a lot of years of hard work by her fans petitioning and her family's @RAD_6 support," they wrote, alongside a photo of the untouched original next to a snap of someone applying lip gloss on the wax figure's lips. "Below is inappropriate and unacceptable #TeamAaliyah."
