A High School Assistant Principal Got "Reassigned" Because She Was in a Trey Songz Video

by Eric Thurm

Apparently high school teachers not being cool comes as a direct mandate from above, because the ones who do chill stuff get moved out of their jobs. Esther Adler-O'Keefe, an assistant high school vice principal from Long Island who has maybe the best name ever for an assistant high school vice principal from Long Island, has been "reassigned" from her position because of a quick appearance in a video for the song "Best Friend" by the rapper J.R. featuring Trey Songz. This is especially bizarre since it's not like Adler-O'Keefe (there's that name again) does anything wrong during the video, other than being a role model for students trying to be cool and well-adjusted adults who can have "normal" jobs while still appearing in music videos. SMH, Long Island. (What else is new?) [via Stereogum]
