World's Smallest Museum Seeks Donors
Billed as the world's smallest museum, and almost certainly the one with the shortest name, Museum occupies the bottom level of an abandoned elevator shaft in a TriBeCa alleyway. (We covered its opening here.) Its rotating exhibits of everyday objects are annotated with cellphone-accessible audio guides. After a successful first year, the folks behind Museum--brothers Benny and Josh Safdie and Alex Kalman, all of Red Bucket Films--are raising funds on Indiegogo for another year of free programming, to include contributions from our own Kim Hastreiter as well as artist Tom Sachs and "design guru" Jim Walrod. Incentives range from a poster-sized museum guide to Russian watches from the collection. The campaign ends tomorrow night.
