Conceptual fashion and design shop TenOverSix has traded Hollywood sun for the wintry climes of New York. For two months, they'll be peddling their super-cool wares within The Future Perfect store on Great Jones Street. The installation features some of TenOverSix's finest private label pieces and a selection of the owners' favorite things from LA. The pop-up comes in the form of a fruit cart, parked at the front of the store. Co-owner Kristen Lee said they wanted to bring a warm, Cali-vibe with their mix of goods. Their graphic prints, array of succulents, and blend of neon, pastel and earthy hues definitely have us feeling like we're back on La Brea.
TenOverSix is big into leopard print right now -- the company makes a mean painted leather cut-out bootie, along with cropped trenches and oversize cotton bucket bags (also available in vintage floral and nautical prints). TenOverSix brought over their popular head-scarves and limited-edition men's skinny ties, but beyond stocking their own fresh designs, they also have an eye -- and ear -- for others'. They're carrying dramatic bib necklaces by Malin, hand-beaded jewels by brokenfab, delicious sunnies by I.a. Eyeworks, and breezy new tunes by the likes of Jason Schwartzman's Coconut Records and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The beautiful WOW artist-designed beach blankets and decks of shrunken literature had us daydreaming of a little vacation. The whole TenOverSix setup is mad cool and perfectly curated -- and it's probably the closest thing to a direct flight out of this snow!
