Really wishing we were in Portland tonight for this Chris Johanson-organized Quiet Music Festival at the Disjecta arts space. Johanson, who is one of our favorite painters (and whose own band, Sun Foot, is performing at the festival), organized this two-day concert showcasing "emotional, vibrant and low volume" musical acts from around the country. Who doesn't love a little quiet time? In case you can't read that scribbly cursive on the flyer, here's the lineup:

Friday, August 12: 8 p.m.
Kyp Malone
Tom Greenwood
The Golden Bears
Sun Foot
Larry Yes
Franklin's Mint

Saturday, August 13: 8 p.m.
Lucky Dragons
Christine Shields
Stephen Malkmus
Dragging an Ox Through Water
Chris Kaup

$7 per day, $12 for both days. All ages. Disjecta, 8371 N Interstate Ave.
