Yearbook Afghanistan, a new photo book by model/philanthropist Kyleigh Kuhn and the humanitarian organization Roots of Peace (founded by Kuhn's mother, Heidi), documents Afghan children attending school in Mir Bacha Kot, a small town outside of Kabul. The school, which was built through proceeds from the Roots of Peace Penny campaign, launched by Kuhn when she was still in high school, opened in 2007. Since then, Kuhn has returned to visit many times, bringing photographer Ruvan Wijesooriya in tow. The photos shot during their visits fill the pages of Yearbook Afghanistan, profiling the students and showing that despite the difficult circumstances these young people find themselves in, their goals and lives are not radically different from that of their peers in the West. Last week, Kuhn was joined by some of her fashionable friends -- Chelsea Leyland, Tali Lennox, Albie Alexxander, Elizabeth Gilpin and Mr. Mickey, among them -- to toast the launch of the book at Little Owl. Check out photos from the night, below.

Yearbook Afghanistan is available for purchase at Opening Ceremony and online.
