Scenes from Lady Gaga's ArtRave at Brooklyn Navy Yard

Middling reviews and weak early reception to her new album ARTPOP, out today, didn't stop Lady Gaga from throwing an enormous, spectacular "artRave" last night at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, complete with a pre-party press conference to reveal her new "flying dress." Attendees arrived via ferry from Manhattan's 35th street terminal to the enormous space, where there were installations from Jeff Koons as well as new works from Robert Wilson, Marina Abramovic and Inez & Vinoodh on display. Guests were also treated to free food trucks all night long, as well as charming post-apocalyptic burning trash cans to keep smokers warm. When Gaga came in through the front entrance in a Leigh Bowery-esque mask near midnight, the throngs were held back by security while Gaga crawled down a long white carpet rolled out across the venue before finally taking the stage. Despite images of the enormous, much-touted Koons X Gaga pieces on display filling up your Twitter and Instagram feeds last night, other artRAve guests were apparently less impressed by Koons' work, having vandalized them by night's end.

Spotted in the VIP section: Marina Abramovic, Tony Bennett, Alexander Wang and Andrew WK. There was also a rumor circulating that Terry Richardson stopped by but was booed upon arrival (due to his mounting bad press).
