Just in time for the first real heatwave of the summer, Hot Sugar has a new, reverb-drenched single for your inner A/C-loving emo kid. Featuring vocals from SUBPOP's Yuno, the aptly named "Marshmallow Weed" is a fuzzy, bedroom-vibey blow-out that evokes the ideal mixture of squelchy, synth weirdness and suburban teen angst. Hazy, lazy and fucked-up in all the right ways, it's a track that takes us straight back to all those humid, high school summer breaks spent surfing the Internet till 5 am.

"Nick has an amazing way of finding and creating unique sounds out of anything and everything," Yuno said. "He has definitely had an influence on the way I create music, so working on music together is something I've always wanted to do. I got to blow my voice out a few times while recording this which was fun. I don't have the chance to do that too often."

A part of Downtown Record's new imprint Downtown Singles Club, the track comes as a bonus banger from the latter's first compilation EP, which also features pop-geared tracks from the likes of Tei Shi and Basic Tapes. Stream the full release below ahead of the label's release party this Thursday at Up & Down, featuring performances from Luca, Alex Chapman and LSDXOXO, and get ready to go full electro-emo.
