It’s rare to find gay men and women flocking to Midtown Manhattan’s Stage 48 outside of the weekend (when it hosts its weekly mess of a techno shindig, VIVA Saturdays) but last night saw New York’s LGBT elite converge on the five-floor venue for a different kind of celebration. OUT Magazine paid homage to its yearly roster of 100 movers and shakers in the queer universe with its annual OUT100 gala, hosted by Lea Delaria of Orange is the New Black. Honorees included her scene-stealing Orange co-star Samira Wiley (Ingénue of the Year), actress Ellen Page (Entertainer of the Year), movie and Broadway stud Zachary Quinto (Artist of the Year) crooner Sam Smith (Breakout of the Year) and social media personality Tyler Oakley (Buick Readers’ Choice).

But they were hardly the only eye-catching people in the room: amongst kings and queens of all types, crowd minglers included Bevy Smith, Danielle Brooks, Neon Trees’ Tyler Glenn, Perez Hilton, Britne Oldford, David Burtka -- even our own Michael Musto was spotted on the scene. We didn’t exactly need a reason to party, but honoring queer icons who are changing the world is a damn good one.
