Peter Davis' Status Update: The Return of Kristen McMenamy
Francisco Costa's party to celebrate the Calvin Klein men's and women's Fall 2010 collections was staged in a huge industrial, raw loft on Little West 12th Street. The interior felt like Calvin's fantasy 1970s Aspen abode -- all-white leather couches, long, sleek fireplaces flickering rows of flames and model-boys pouring flutes of champagne. Everyone who survived fashion week came out to toast Costa, including: Kerry Washington, Alexander Skarsgard, Naomi Watts, Ryan Phillippe, Kate Bosworth, Brooklyn Decker, Helena Christensen, AnnaLynne McCord and Kellan Lutz, and Rachel Zoe. The crowd also included Dani Stahl, Richard Buckley, Isabel Lucas, Hamish Bowles, Linda Fargo (dancing by the window), Stella Tennant, and fashion writer Vanessa Lawrence (it was her birthday). But the one boldface beauty that kept me entranced was former, notoriously outrageous 43-year-old supermodel Kristen McMenamy, who did not disappoint with a frizzy mess of flowing platinum blond hair, lace stockings and white leather boots. McMenamy has sporadically appeared in Paris and Italian Vogue, but mostly is now a mom to daughter Lily who she had in 1994 with photographer Miles Aldridge. She is no longer a party girl and has a scant seven photos on Patrick McMullan's website. I asked the androgynous stunner what she's been up to lately. "I'm just living my life, man," she said, swigging her champagne. Cheers, Kristen.
