HEY, WE ARE HERE!! | PROJECT SCHEDULE | PROJECT PARTICIPANTS | THE SPACE
Fasten your seat belts, all you left-coasters. This December, PAPER magazine will invade Los Angeles (in the best sense of the word) to investigate, report on and celebrate the wild inspiration we know is rampant over there. So mark your calendars, because the L.A. PAPER Project will be open to the public. Our latest PAPER Project will be blazing out of a storefront on Melrose and La Brea Avenues, where we will be curating a weeklong pop-up pop-culture and party center, hosting fashion shows, art exhibitions, fantastical sport and recreation presentations, film and video screenings, live music and performances. Fashion wrestling? Sure! Morning aerobics with Richard Simmons and Mr. Mickey? Could be! Celebrity badminton? OK! Drag-queen car wash? Why not! And the best part is that Team PAPER -- writers, editors, stylists, photographers and a few of our iconically zany friends from both coasts -- will document the creative combustion and cultural chaos for our special February issue, the first-ever all-L.A. edition of PAPER. Even if we don't know what will happen when we mix all these disparate cultural elements, we do know that it's going to be incredible, surprising, shocking, hilarious and most of all, inspiring. And we couldn't have done it without the help of our friends and our visionary title partners: Kodak, Nokia, Chrysler and adidas. The L.A. PAPER Project is open to the public from December 7-11 at ACME, 7018 Melrose Ave. |
