Tucked away within the labyrinth that is the Mercedes Benz tents at the Lincoln Center, the W Hotel served up drinks on Monday night as part of their Fashion Next event, highlighting six designers showing this season. Jenne Lombardo, fashion director of the hotel chain, curated the presentation, choosing one piece from each brand which included Bibhu Mohapatra, Michael Angel, Juan Carlos Obando, Electric Feathers, Nomia and Rochambeau.  We especially loved Australian Michael Angel's design, so we grabbed him to chat about his inspirations. Apparently the feeling was mutual, he was quick to shout out to Mickey and Kim at PAPER, and then launch into describing the influences behind his latest; "It's based on ancient Egypt and the future. I took a part of my heritage, my mother is Egyptian, and decided to make the collection a focus on Egypt but make it extremely modern" He is also loving the prints coming down the runways the last few days, saying, "as a print designer it's very good for me because I won't stand so singular."

We spotted Joe Mangienello and Rose McGowan, and Angela Lindvall, who is launching her own jewelry line with John Hardy, showed up just in time for Katy B's performance in the box, who was feeling a little homesick, talking about on her home back on the West Coast: "I live in a little canyon outside of LA. It's really my sanctuary."
