PAPER and our friends at NewHive are pleased to announce a new collaborative series, NewHive for PAPER, which will run bimonthly on Papermag.com. Featuring artist interviews, first looks, deep dives and special projects, this column will be co-curated by both outlets and showcase the practices of some of today's most exciting emerging net-based artists.
The series will kick off Thursday, March 17th, with a Q&A between PAPER and Shawné Michaelain Holloway, an internet artist and curator living in Paris. Holloway's work explores the "real life" cultural and economic implications of performing identity for online social networking sites, with a special emphasis on minoratized bodies, BDSM culture, and gender non-conformity. In this interview, Holloway will also provide a sneak preview of her next project, EXTREME SUBMISSION.
NewHive is a multimedia publishing platform and cultural hub for millions of artists, writers, musicians, performers, and technologists who are creating the freshest and most creative art on the web today. PAPER, with its 32-year-long history of supporting artists who are creating culture, is very excited to partner with NewHive to expand on our commitment of showcasing up and coming talent in the art world.
