Thank to an archaic law called Section 377, homosexuality in India is illegal and punishable by life in prison. Nonetheless Mumbai, one of the world's most vibrant cities and home to India's film, publishing and fashion industries, celebrated Queer Azaadi Mumbai Pride earlier this month. Considering the anti-LGBTQ tide sweeping certain parts of the world like Russia and Africa, these celebrants need to be applauded for their courage in standing up for equal rights for all.
