Mary-Louise Parker Comes Back to Broadway

Whitney Spaner

Our May cover girl and star of the hit Showtime series Weeds, Mary-Louise Parker, is coming back to Broadway this January as the star of Hedda Gabler, a Roundabout production which was adapted by the recently prolific and popular playwright Christopher Shinn (Dying City, On the Mountain) from the original text by Henrik Ibsen.

And she won't be the only Weeds star on Broadway -- Parker's on-screen son Hunter Parrish is making his Broadway debut in Spring Awakening next week, playing the lead role of Melchior for at least the next six months. I'm sure Mary-Louise has some tips for the young Parrish, as she's a Broadway pro. She was last seen on Broadway in Reckless in 2004. And this past spring she starred in the off-Broadway production of Dead Man's Cell Phone at Playwrights Horizons.
