Lovecat's Art Basel Bash Felt Like a Demented Fun House. In a Good Way.

Alex Catarinella

Last night Prince Chenoa and Jacob Dekat's Lovecat magazine threw an Art Basel bash celebrating the launch of their Art Issue, designed by Mr. Brainwash. The pop street artist created the issue's double Andy Warhol/Cindy Crawford covers and also did a little decorating for the party, transforming two massive stories of South Beach's Boulan into a colorfully demented fun house (personal highlights including a gigantic Darth Vader light-saber wielding creation and Kate Moss' beautiful mug splattered all over a multicolored horse sculpture). The turn-out was expectedly young and fabulous, with New York downtown types Sophia Lamar, Leigh Lezark, DJ/violinist duo Mia Moretti and Caitlin Moe, and every damn style blogger/photographer imaginable mixing and mingling. With an overflowing open bar and a sea of biker-jacket clad cuties, we weren't so certain if we were being brainwashed or if the Factory had re-opened for one night only in South Beach.
