L.A. Report: The Art of Elysium Genesis Party

The Art of Elysium is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging actors, artists and musicians to share their time and talent with children who are battling serious medical conditions. This weekend they threw quite the affair at HD Buttercup in Culver City. New York's premiere cocktail destination Death & Co set up three bars (rumor has it they will be opening up an outpost here in L.A.), a Coffee Bean truck zoomed in whipping up any luscious latte you wanted, Hollywood power DJ Brent Bolthouse was on the ones and twos, while folks lined up to be fitted at the Current/Elliot denim bar.

Emile Hirsch told me to go out and buy the new Pearl Jam CD Back Spacer because "Eddie Vedder just kills it." A very pregnant Jenna Elfman mentioned that she loves The Ting Tings and suggested I watch the card scene in Born Yesterday in slow motion. Music video director Anthony Mandler told me that he is working on Rihanna's new video (he's done 11 of them). And though he wouldn't tell me what he has up his sleeve, he did hint that he has been in Hong Kong for three weeks seeking inspiration...
