We Love KOCHÉ's Huge Feathery Hats

As guests filtered into KOCHÉS fall 2019 show, most were stunned by the massive AccorHotels Arena (with an astounding 17,000 seats!) that designer Christelle Kocher chose to stage her show in, on the outskirts of Paris. Titled "The Land of My Dreams," the collection was full of sporty outfits, handmade crystal gowns with couture-like techniques and of course, a continuation of the soccer theme that Kocher has been working on season after season. Models walked through the arena floor with precision spotlights as the jumbotron displayed each model's profile (wearing a jersey) and name. Here's everything else you need to know about the show.

The New Nike

For fall 2019, the line collaborated with Nike. Matching the designer's affinity for soccer and all things sporty (KOCHÉ also collaborated with the soccer team St Germain for spring 2018), Kocher collaged pieces of official Nike jerseys together to form pants, tiered dresses, jackets, skirts and scarfs that looked surprisingly feminine.

Dream Hats

Given the collection was titled "The Land of My Dreams," it would be surprising to not have some highbrow element of fantasy. Here, the huge fluffy, feathery hats in red, orange, green and white added a magical moment to the show's line-up.

Patchwork Revamp

Patchwork, one of the biggest trends of the fall 2019 season, was on full display at KOCHÉ. Angular pieces of shiny sequin fabrics were sewn together in the form of skirts and blazers. One of the very last looks was also patchwork: with Nike jerseys, shimmering seams and black sneakers to go with it.

Devore Devotion

The beginning of the collection showcased some gorgeous devore fabrics in vibrant orange and red. The burnout technique on the velvet textile felt fresh compared to an otherwise conventional fall fabric.

Slick Stripes

Stripes as a motif made their appearance on the runway, in Rugby inspired shapes and colors. With Prada showing a similar aesthetic earlier this month in Milan, this may be another trend to watch out for.
