Everyone's favorite introspective, angst-ridden heroine Kirsten Dunst is finally set to make her directorial full-length debut next year with an adaptation of Sylvia Plath's seminal 1963 novel The Bell Jar.

According to Deadline, Dakota Fanning is expected to play the story's protagonist, writer Esther Greenwood, as she spirals into a mental breakdown following her move to NYC. Needless to say, it's a tale that hits close to home for many of us, and Kirsten Dunst, obviously, feels like a perfect fit.
