Kid Sister Brings her Pro Nails to Billabong's Design for Humanity Block Party in L.A.

Everette Perry

Paramount studio's New York back lot was the perfect setting for last Thursday's Billabong's fourth annual Design for Humanity, a fashion, film, music fund-raising block party for the non-profit Invisible Children. Two stages set up on the very realistic Manhattan set featured live music from FischerSpooner and Kid Sister, and every back alley had a DJ spinning. The crowd, which included guests Jeremy Scott, Grant Harvey, Aubrey Plaza, AnnaLynne McCord and Jesse Metcalf, also toon in an art show featuring 30 artists from the Carmichael Gallery, tack trucks and live art installations. I grabbed Ms. Sister right before her set, which included hit Pro Nails, for a quick Q & A.

What was the last song you heard?
I just bought "In the Ghetto" by The Bad Yard Club.  It's one of those songs that actually gets me moving.

What artists get you moving? Besides yourself, of course.
I love Dajae, I'd love to do a duet with her.

What is your favorite thing you own?
My new convertible.

If you could hang out with anyone, living or dead, who would it be?
Joan of Arc. She's such a bad ass.

Where is the last place you went shopping?
Top Shop. I love it.
