Kendrick Goes to Paris in "Backseat Freestyle"

Gary Pini

You've probably seen his good Kid, m.A.A.d city album on many "Best of 2012" lists and Kendrick Lamar deserves the accolades. He actually sold more copies of his major-label debut in the first week of release than Rihanna's latest -- and didn't need a global press junket to boost the sales. This clip for "Backseat Freestyle" takes us deeper into the album's "non-linear narrative," with some fine dancing by Sherane and a phone interlude to retrieve the dominoes. Plus there's a little trip to Paris to see if he's really as big as the Eiffel Tower.
