Karen O has a new song called "Strange Love" on the soundtrack to Tim Burton's upcoming Frankenweenie, out September 25th. The calypso-tinged track features xylophones and surfy guitar and a twangy little theramin solo that evokes old mad scientist movies. She told Rolling Stone the song's tropical feel is a nod to Burton's use of Harry Belafonte's "Jump In the Line" at the end of Beetlejuice. It's also just a lovely song about unconditional love, and friendship and the barking dog in the background is a really sweet touch that may or may not have made us a little misty-eyed. There's 30 seconds of the track embedded above, but you can listen to the full thing at Pitchfork.
