Last night, the Young Musicians Orchestra of Los Angeles kicked off their Great Musician Series, which explores connections between great artists of our time and classical masters, with a concert that paired the music of Kanye West with Ludwig van Beethoven. The 70-piece orchestra incorporated 6 Kanye tracks from Yeezus, including 'Blood on the Leaves' and 'New Slaves', which you can watch below...

We cannot speak to their musical similarities, but an argument could be made for a trans-historical connection between Yeezy and Beethoven. After all, Beethoven once proclaimed, "What you are, you are by accident of birth; what I am, I am by myself. There are and will be a thousand princes; there is only one Beethoven." And Kanye, with his goblets and cherub rugs, is certainly about that 18th Century life.
