Girls' Generation's "Run Devil Run" Is Our Music Video of the Day

Gary Pini

We heard this K-Pop tune blasting over the stereo in a new Korean food court that just opened down the street from PAPER's office.A little investigation revealed that it's "Run Devil Run" by Girls' Generation, or So Nyuh Shi Dae (SNSD), depending on where you live. There are nine girls in the group and they are very popular: this video has 17,000,000 plays on YouTube. As we started reading more about them, we discovered that there is another version of the song recorded by Ke$ha in 2008 and, of course, there's some controversy about who-copied-who.  It turns out that the song was written by several people (including Alex James from Blur) and was only recorded as a demo by Ke$ha and never actually released by her -- though it is widely available.  Now that we've straightened that out, sit back, relax and enjoy the video.  You'll be viewer number 17,000,001.
