Removed from the epicenter of Fashion Week, Ms. Jimenez entertained us
with her fantastic style, this time set in the ever-chic Sotheby's. Once
again, Elisa displayed her undying love for cosmic and organic themes.
Presenting part II of "Fancy" (the second of her two fashion
performances), the designer's show was a fashion play that involved 47
mythological characters: Fancy, the serpent, story-tellers, and
characters representing 'the grass' and 'the heart' all went into the
story of birth, death, union, rebirth, transformation and ecstasy.
Costuming her cast with her magic touch, Elisa clothed the models in
esoteric and erotic get-ups, introducing a radiant element with the help
of Swarovski crystals. The narrative unspooled in a flurry of the
designer's creations, including Greek goddess mini- and maxi-togas (some
adorned with poetry), mysterious "Naked Suits" complimented by Swarovski
veils and decorative designs, a reptile-print leotard with a feathered
eye mask, and long sleeves and trains everywhere. By unleashing her
cosmic energy, Elisa spread the love with her unique take on fabrics --
so luminous, so ominous. C.C. McGURR
