Otion Front partner Sarah Kinlaw and FlucT's Monica Mirabile have just announced a collaborative performance piece/"social psychology experiment," dubbed Authority Figure -- and it has the sort of creative line-up that reads more like the bill of a super dope, Internet-savvy show.

Taking place at Queens's Knockdown Center from May 20-22, it's centered around the theme of "authority" and enlists original music from the likes of Dev Hynes, Dan Deacon, SOPHIE, Hot Sugar, Pictureplane and Chairlift's Caroline Polachek, alongside a assemblage of installations and choreography from 150+ performers and artists.

"Everyone's relationship to authority is layered and complex, including ours," Mirabile and Kinlaw told Fader via email. "Whether we are children, employers, bitches, cops and/or lovers, we have to deal with our relationships to obedience. Obedience and authority exist on a spectrum, we fluctuate between agency and insecurity on the daily. Authority Figure is choreography of the systems that program our obedient identities so that we can move through them and start to understand our relationships to each other. It's about performing agency and responsibility or the point when you shift from observer to participant."

Learn more about the project here and check out a preview of the performance below. Oh and note -- the team are currently looking for more female producers "emotionally affected by obedience (lol we know u do ;))," so drop 'em a line if you're so inclined.
