Not to be outdone by the eggheads at MIT, students at Washington University in St. Louis have been devoting hours of their quality time, several hundred hours in fact,  to developing a computer controlled dance floor that would've tested John Travolta's disco dexterity as seen in Saturday Night Fever. Building on the work done at MIT, the dance floor, which makes use of one-half mile of environmentally friendly ribbon cable, can be controlled wirelessly by remote clients, thus facilitating visual interactions that were not possible in previous designs. With disco making a comeback (again), expect to see these popping up everywhere. Via endgadget by way of rawfeed
