About Last Night... At 45 Canal St. with Terence Koh
By Caroline Torem Craig
There are more photos in this gallery. View them all.
First in show and showmanship, the celebrated artist Terence Koh stopped all traffic at 45 Canal St. with a little help from fellow artists, friends and fans. There was designer Zaldy in floral bondage and some serious representation of over-sized white-framed glasses by Jeffrey Deitch, Genevieve Jones, and The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black (a.k.a. Kembra Phaler). Is this a trend or an omen?
I got so confused when it appeared that there was a look-a-like Damien Loeb and a Thurston Moore duplicate. To add to this dream-like sequence, I encountered the acclaimed artist Star, who happens to be a bunny and not just any ol' stuffed rabbit.
Inside or outside 45 Canal, you should have been there!

About Last Night... PAPER's Annual Beautiful People Party at Hiro Ballroom
By Caroline Torem Craig

Apparently, New York City ranks fourth in the world in terms of population density, and it felt as if the whole city was crowded together at PAPER’s Beautiful People party held at the Hiro Ballroom last night! Californian crooner and BP cover girl Joanna Newsom performed for the throngs of rabid fans. All in all, it was a great, young, crowded, fun, laid-back party, but then all of a sudden the pressure was ON when Bjork, notoriously anti-photographer, arrived. It was my mission to document her iconic presence at our party! And I fought like a Nimiean lion to do it. I got four frames -- pop, pop, pop, pop -- just like the champagne served that evening, courtesy of Nicolas Feuillatte. The icing on the cake? H&M provide a PAPER + H&M T-shirt for all guests which read “I am a beautiful person.”

Party people; Bjork!

Beautiful People Party!!
By Alexis Swerdloff
Our Beautiful People issue is always one of the most fun issues to put together and, as such, one of the most fun issues to celebrate. Last night proved no exception as Guess hosted our annual Beautiful People party at Hiro Ballroom at the Maritime Hotel. Svedka, Nicolas Feuillate and Dos Equis provided the bevies. Beautiful People/DJs Donna D’Cruz and Jacques Renault spun the tunes. And BPs Cazwell and Tippy performed.
Like excited atoms bumping into each other and triggering chemical reactions, all the up-and-coming talents packed together in one big room created their own kind of energy -- of a more fabulous variety. “I just ran into these fashion designers -- they said they’d style our music video,” I heard a skinny-trousered man say to his friend, as he brushed passed me.
Among the bold-faced: John Waters, Colin Cowie, Erin Fetherston, Jennifer Venditti, Cheryl Dunn, Richie Rich, Traver Rains, Tommy Saleh, Jauretsi Saizarbitoria, Zaldy, Sally Singer, Sarah Sophie Flicker, Jesse Peretz, Angel Chang, Andrew Andrew, Mirabelle Marden, Melissa Bent, Kimball Hastings, Fancy Nancy, Hanna Liden, Mamie Gummer, Annelise Peterson, Carlos de Souza, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Babydaddy (from the Scissor Sisters), The Cobra Snake and Tommy Boy founder Tom Silverman among many others stopped by.
