Beauty School: Prescriptives Mineral Makeup SPF 15
By Carol Lee

As a skeptic of mineral makeups that seem to be all the fuss these day, I was not exactly thrilled at first by Prescriptives All Skins Mineral Makeup SPF 15. But after a couple of tries this has become my new summer obsession. When it comes to skincare/beauty products I have brand loyalty. Tough I'm not a big Prescriptives girl I know that their products are clean and gentle. So I gave the ASMM a whirl and was instantly pleased. It's very light and scentless, and it also makes your pores look smaller without clogging them. Another minor miracle is that ASMM gives you a subtle shimmer, a post-coital glow, if you will, rather than a walking disco ball effect. My friends actually commented on a night out: "You look like you've been having a lot of sex." Well, that's a good look don't you think? Also, this mineral cover-up is supposed to be sweat and humidity resistant, water resistant and non-acnegenic (don't you just love cosmeseutical made-up words?). I put this baby to the test during the recent 100-degree heat wave and I must say it really delivered. And with calcite, mica, amethyst and rose quartz on your face you feel like the queen of Egypt. $32.50 (+ Round Buff Brush $30). www.prescriptives.com. B+ (I would give this a higher grade if the brush were included in the package.)
