Venerable Louis Boston to Relocate in 2010
By Julia Frakes
Our beloved Louis Boston ("Loooeeez Baahsten") will be relocating from its esteemed Newberry Street location in Boston's former Natural History Museum. Louis brought a certain kooky, offbeat panache to the now thoroughly mainstream fashion street.
The artsy independent department store often draws comparisons to Barneys New York for how it fosters up-and-coming designers including Brian Reyes, Elise Ă˜verland, Lyn Devon and Olga Kapustina as well as offbeat labels like Dries Van Noten, Jonathan Saunders, Nathen Jenden and Marni; its innovative in-store restaurant; and venerated home and fragrance departments boasting Costes, Diptyque and Fornasetti.

Marni Goes to Istanbul
By Mickey Boardman

Who doesn't love a new Marni boutique? MM's favorite Marni location is London but there might be a new contender since Marni has joined forces with Beyman (the Turkish equivalent of Barneys NY) to open a Marni in Istanbul. Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni worked with the architects of Sybarite to design the space. Now if only the dollar wasn't in the toilet we could afford to shop there!

Barneys' "Future Fashion" Brought Out The Big Guns, All in the Name of Sustainability.
By Mickey Boardman

Barneys' Julie Gilhart brought out all the big name designers for their Future Fashion show, which highlighted fashion made with sustainable materials. From Marni to Versace, Rodarte to Rogan, Isabel Toledo to Diane von Furstenberg, all worn by a cavalcade of the best girls (styled by Brana Wolf, hair by Recine, makeup by Dick Page), it was a tour de force!

Mr. Mickey's New Stella McCartney Bag!!!
By Mickey Boardman

Mr. Mickey's got a new bag! Mr. Mickey was out pounding the pavements on a million appointments last Thursday and found himself with a few minutes to kill in the Meat Packing district. Well MM was tired of his fabulous but slightly threadbare Marni tote bag so he popped into Stella McCartney to see what was cooking in the man-purse department.
You regular MMBloggers know that Mr. Mickey is a cruelty-free cutie and wears no animal products, so Stella -- the queen of cruelty free high fashion -- is a perfect fit for MM. Five minutes later MM was walking down 14th Street carrying this charming and delightful tote bag. MM still has his eye on a silver man-purse that's more formal so we'll keep you posted on that one. MM is including a close-up photo of the bag so you can really see the cute detail.
