Mr. Mickey Puts Out... For NYC

By David Hershkovits

mr. mickey

Our very own Mr. Mickey is being featured in the "Just Ask the Locals" ad campaign launched by NYC & Co., the city's tourism arm. Recognizing tourism as the city's only growth industry -- thanks to those euro-toting travelers and the financial industry's precipitous decline -- Mr. Mayor is rolling out the red carpet. The ad campaign features real New Yawkers like Mickey Boardman -- shot at Indochine -- as well as PAPER faves like Simon Doonan, Tim Gunn, Debbie Harry and Cynthia Rowley. Building on the success of the first phase of Just Ask The Locals launched in 2007, the expanded campaign calls on visitors to ask New Yorkers to share their suggestions on what to see and do in New York City on the interactive web site.

More Fun at the Colette Luncheon and Pink Martini Concert!

By Kim Hastreiter

leyla ice cream and sarahWOW I'm exhausted today. Wednesday was a wild one. First we hosted a luncheon at Indochine celebrating the tenth birthday of our fave shop in Paris, Colette. Sarah Lerfel and her mom (and shop namesake) Colette hopped over to New York for the occasion and it was SUCH a fun crowd. It was a great mix of artists, DJs, designers (young cool ones mostly), socialites and hipsters who all respect Sarah's eye and vision and wanted to come celebrate her. We had a great table of friends of Sarah -- many of whom I also knew.

Brian Kaws (the artist, see his photo below) was across sitting next to Supreme's James Jebbia who just became a dad! To my left was Weiden and Kennedy guru John Jay, and to my right was fabulous designer Thomas Brown, who I introduced to my Portland friend Thomas Lauderdale, who was playing at Carnegie Hall that night with his group Pink Martini (that's a whole other story to come!). I think Brown should dress all the Pink Martini guys actually.

About Last Night... Mr. Mickey Goes to the Spotted Pig

By Mickey Boardman

kate schelter and luigi tadini

You MMbloggers know that Mr. Mickey really only goes to Indochine, the chicest restaurant in Manhattan. Otherwise it's Rice to-go or Burritoville for MM. Consequently, MM was excited to be invited by the ultraglamorous Kate Schelter, Bettina Zilkha and David Gruning to the Spotted Pig for a lovely dinner. All the hipsters LIVE for the Spotted Pig and MM can see why. The food was DELICIOUS. The carrot salad was sublime! The crowd was packed with cuties like Luigi Tadini, Anouck Lepere, Matthew Marchak, Joey Jalleo, Lisa Salzer (of Lulu Frost jewelry) and Todd Eberle. Here are some cute shots. Kate wanted to show off her Lulu Frost earrings. A gorgeous hunk came in dressed as an old-fashioned newsboy because he was giving out giftbags at some Gin launch in the other room. Then he changed into his street clothes and was all in motorcycle leather. This dude was HOT. Ah, the glamour never ends in the Naked City!!!!

Tuesday night, PAPER's Hunter Hill and Mr. Mickey hosted a littled dinner to celebrate Annelise Peterson's new position as Director of PR at the House of Valentino. Check out what a gorgeous glamourpuss Annelise is in the photos. Lots of Annelise's friends and fans came to pay their respects like Valentino's Carlos Souza, Dr. Lisa Airan, Ferebee Bishop, Maggie Betts, Bonnie Morrison, Kim Vernon, Valentino's Matthew Marchak and Triana Trujillo, Carlos Mota, Alexis Bryan and Lisa Marie Fernandez. The dinner was at Indochine, one of New York's most classic and chic restaurants.
