Bevy Smith Reports: "I Thought I Had Died and Gone to Heaven" at the M.A.C/Heatherette Party
By Bevy Smith

When I die, I want an after-life party, but not just any party -- I want cotton candy and pink popcorn served; I want an open bar with pretty pink concoctions; I want everyone to show up decked to the nines, girls with their faces beat, enough makeup to rival any drag queen; men suited and booted; major music; I want an extravaganza! Well, last week at the unveiling of the M.A.C/Heatherette line, I thought I had died and gone to heaven!
How could Richie Rich, Traver Rains and John Demsey know what would make me happy? It was like they read my mind! They served up all of the above encased in glitter -- glitter makeup inspired by a disco ball. And there was no discreet dusting of sheen for them -- no, we are talking chunks of shiny metallic madness. Think arts and crafts glitter glue for your face, and don’t be scared!!! As if that weren’t enough, they are giving you lashes, but not just any lash, patent leather lashes. They come in two versions, “She’s Good” and “She’s Bad,” and guess which one Ms. Bevy loves? “She’s Bad” has a fishnet texture, so you know I had to have them! Leave it to the boys to continue the madness with their packaging. Remember good ole Bubble Tape, the bubble gum that came in a faux measuring tape container? That’s the container for their pressed powder compact. Genius! How’s that for taking the old hood saying “all you want is hard d*#k and bubble gum” to a whole new level!

About Last Night... Heatherette, M.A.C & PAPER Party at Kiss and Fly
By Caroline Torem Craig

It was a sea of 10,000 + maniacs last night. Who were all these uninhibited starlets and harlots!! God, there wasn’t one sourpuss in the bunch! I should have known, given the legion of hip followers of Heatherette and M.A.C. who teamed up for a special line of Heatherette maquillage.

Christian Siriano and Leven Rambin: Together at Last!
By Alexis Swerdloff

Last night, Carol Lee and myself headed to the way, way West 30s for the Mercedes-Benz Bluetec party, featuring a performance by Sheryl Crow. It was a sea of men in suits amid shiny, silver cars and blueberry-infused vodka drinks until all of a sudden, Richie Rich and Traver Rains of Heatherette, Chris Benz, Alexander Wang, Costello Tagliapietra, Tinsley Mortimer, Fabiola Beracasa, Leven Rambin and none other than Sir Christian Siriano descended, literally en masse! We chatted it up a bit with Christian and his boyfriend of five months photog Brad Walsh, and we had to fight to keep Christian's attention as reporters and socialites were literally frothing at the mouth in order to get a piece of the young, spritely ball of tranny fierceness. "I HAVE to meet Christian!" Ms. Rambin said, immediately upon entering the party, "I have been saying 'tranny hot mess' constantly!" she told us.

The Life and Times of Fabian Basabe: "I Am Done with Vegas For at Least a Few Weeks!"
By Fabian Basabe

And right when you thought you got rid of me... Hi guys, I am back! And I have a question: why are you reading this blog if you think I am a douche bag? Come on, click away from this page and make room for all those who like me, because yes, they are many and many more. Did I get rid of you? Did I now? Okay then, keep reading, but now the douchebag is you!!!
Anyway... Let's talk about my endorsement campaign. I was asked to be the face, literally, of a very cool skin care company, Dr. Alessi, which is based in Los Angeles and who promise to make every client look like me. Pretty groovy, yeah? And, as if that were not enough, Dr. Alessi is the founder of an amazing charity foundation called Face Forward, so I am definitely proud and flattered they asked me and I hope I will do I good job representing them.
Now let's talk about my TV project. I was approached by Lifetime and asked to participate in an episode of their show Top This Party. Basically, the show follows you and your party planner's trials and tribulations throughout the process of trying to plan the best party EVER. Since I just got the endorsement campaign, and my friend Brittny Gastineau wanted to throw me a party for that, we just jumped at it and said YEEEESSSSS! And just like that I am back on TV. Let me just say that after my extensive study of parties I kinda knew that this party was going to be... well.... but as you know, I never say no to a party, so I cheerfully accepted the job, packed up and left for Vegas, where the show was going to be filmed.

PAPER TV: The Lydia Hearst for Puma Launch Party at 60 Thompson
By PAPERMAG Editors
Last night, Puma threw a big ole party at 60 Thompson to celebrate their launch of the Lydia-Hearst-designed bag. PAPER was on the scene and our very own Jennifer Sample interviewed lady of the hour Lydia and Heatherette's Richie Rich.

About Last Night... The Lydia Hearst for Puma Launch Party and Artwalk Auction
By Caroline Torem Craig

The 60 Thompson Hotel was packed to the brim with glamourpusses galore at the Lydia Hearst for Puma launch party, hosted by both Lydia and PAPER Magazine. It was a madhouse up in there as everyone showed up to get a glimpse of Miss Hearst, who glimmered and glammed in a slivering, silvery number. The crazy thing is that every one of her handbags worked well with her outfit. There was, however, a moment of torment and torture for me, as Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem were at the hotel, but unavailable for photographs! But! I swear to God they were right in front of me looking like the superstars that they are.

Fashion Week Hunk Erik Rhodes
By Mickey Boardman

Even during Fashion Week, Mr. Mickey finds the muscles! Here is pornstar extraordinaire Erik Rhodes at the Heatherette show. Smartly, the PR kids at People's Revolution had super sexy seat-fillers to make sure that there were enough front row seats for the late arriving VIPs like Mr. Mickey who came over after Calvin. What a Fashion Week yin and yang: Calvin and then Heatherette! Anyway, MM hugged Erik and he is more hard and muscley than ever. Talk about a churnin' hunk of burnin' funk!

Fashion Week Mouth Off: Christo and Jeanne Claude at the Snoopy Show
By Carol Lee

As you've seen it on Saturday's front page of The Post featuring Cory Kennedy rocking the Snoopy-shouldered plushy overcoat by Jeremy Scott, the Metlife/Snoopy show was worth the trek to the treacherous fashion tents at Bryant Park. You'll hear more on this extravaganza from our Bunny who is obsessed with Snoopy, so I won't get into it too much, but let me just say that it was entertainment for all ages. And of all things that could've been trés bizarre at this event, the weirdest was spotting Christo and Jeanne Claude, the much fretted about art couple in the front row alongside Elizabeth Hasselback of The View and Heatherette's Richie Rich and Traver Rains. See this photo of them checking out the Laura Bennett's (of Project Runway) interpretation of Woodstock. I guess it just goes to show that the Peanuts gang has an undeniable crossover appeal, and seeing as how Jeane Claude's hair is of a cartoon color it's not that surprising after all! And might I add that having them there created an aura that the spectacle was a real cultural event and not just some retarded fashion show based on comic strip characters.

Fashion on Ice
By Kim Hastreiter
For some reason I have been noticing more than a few connections lately between fashion and ice skating. No joke.... The first person I knew in the fashion world who was an ice skating champion was Richie Rich from Heatherette. Get this: he used to train under Olympic gold medalist Christy Yamaguchi! Richie's Wikipedia entry is hilarious:
Richie Rich is a nationally ranked competitive ice skater, recording artist, fashion designer. Before becoming a fashion designer, Richie Rich once trained under gold medalist figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, later joining the circus.
There's also Vera Wang, the ex-pro figure skater who has designed skating dresses for Olympic skaters like Nancy Kerrigan and Michelle Kwan.
Then came Fashion Week when Karl Lagerfeld showed the Chanel collection on ice in a big rink in Paris. In New York the kooky Hassidic outsider Levi Okunov showed his fashions on ice as well and featured Oksuna Bayul as a model.
BUT, the most fun fashion ice skater out there has to be our good L.A. friend fashion the celebrity marketing guru Bryan Rabin (of Rabin Rodgers... working for clients like Harry Winston, Paramount Pictures, Vanity Fair) who not only used to be a huge skate champion before he went into the biz but has now decided to glide back into it recently competing and winning the adult masters mens Pacific Coast Championship!! Rabin did so well he's back in training and is now going to compete in the United States Figure Skating 2007 Adult Nationals!!!!
I spoke to Bryan about it the other day and he told me: " I lived away from home starting at 10 years old to skate and was three-time regional champion, three-time Midwestern champ, three-time national competitor and a member of the 1986 Junior Elite team. I was injured in the '87 season right before Junior World Championships and then didn't skate for 20 years. I have trained for six months and I'm out there doing triple jumps... I don't know anybody who took 20 years off at my age to come back with triples!!! I don't care what happens from here... because if, with my crazy job, I made the time to train and do this for myself I have won already."
Here he is last month not only looking gorgeous on ice but skating to win! Go Bryan!
