About Last Night... David Yurman Eyewear Launch

How could we not say yes to David Yurman's rooftop fiesta last night? A hot summer night on their Tribeca rooftop surrounded by their chic new sunglasses collection was an invitation I could not refuse. While sipping mint mojitos, I perused the sexy new lineup of shades and have to say that I liked what I saw. Sophisticated and clean, and sometimes rock-star fabulous, the line proved to be a serious contender in the sunglass department. And it was definitely a family affair as the Yurman clan (David, Sybil and Evan) turned out in full force. I asked Sybil, who co-designed the line, what her vision for the shades were, to which she replied, "It's jewelry for your eyes."

Alexandre von Furstenberg and Lapo Elkann at the Gramercy Park Hotel

How delicious is this shot of two great tastes that taste great together? Alexandre von Furstenberg and Lapo Elkann canoodling at a party for Lapo at the Gramercy Park Hotel roof. Mr. Mickey is still recovering from the press conference that Lapo gave for his company Italia Independent at Barneys New York on Thursday. Barneys is the exclusive retailer in the US for Italia Independent's eyewear.
Lapo spoke and then took questions from the crowd. Naturally, Mr. Mickey was right up front, foaming at the gay mouth! You long time MMBloggers know that Lapo is truly the only man for Mr. Mickey and MM is ready to throw it all away and become a Torino, Italy housewife for Lapo. MM and Lapo did have a magical exchange at Barneys and you can look for the world's best dressed man (Lapo not MM) in an upcoming issue of PAPER. In the meantime you'll have to be satisfied with this photo from Style.com.

Mr. Mickey was recently a guest at the extremely high-fashion Mido Eyewear show in Milan! MM knows all you cuties LIVE to accessorize so here is a little report on what's shaking in the world of specs!
