Eight Items or Less: Gansevoort South to Close and Isabella Rossellini to Go to Greenpoint
By Gary Pini

1. Miami hotel news: The Gansevoort South hotel in South Beach has gone into foreclosure and will be auctioned off next month. No word yet on the fate of David Barton Gym, Louis nightclub or Philippe Chow restaurant, all in the building. The Miami Herald reports that The Sagamore hotel, also in South Beach, is negotiating a licensing deal to open the only Playboy Club outside of Las Vegas.
2. Billboard magazine lists the top one-hit-wonders of the decade. Daniel Powter's "Bad Day" scores the dubious honor of being #1.
3. Tickets for the New Year's Eve Lady Gaga concert at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami, which range from $375 for general admission to $25,000 for a "Grand Oasis pool cabana for 25 people," available here.
4. Ubiquitous sticker maniac BNE opens his exhibit on Thursday, December 10, on Eleventh Avenue between 44th and 45th on the west side of the street. As the Times noted today, the artist will probably not be attending. Stretch Armstrong is DJing.
5. The London Times reports that Caravaggio's painting "Nativity with Saint Francis and Saint Lawrence" -- stolen in Sicily in 1969 -- was "burned and destroyed by the mafia in the 80s."
6. Isabella Rossellini goes to Greenpoint! The legendary actress will head to Greenpoint bar Coco66 for a celebration of the DVD release and a screening of her amazing Green Porno Sundance Channel series, a Q&A sessh, and truffle popcorn. For $25 you get two tickets, and a copy of the accompanying book. Go here for more info.

Comments
the Gansevoort supposedly issued a statement this afternoon that their problems are due to "unsold condos" in the same building and they will remain open and try to buy the entire building from Credit Suisse at the auction next month
