Guy-ccessory: Creative Loafing
By Luigi Tadini

Mark McNairy, the creative director of New-Haven-New-York-Cambridge-D.C. line J. Press, has teamed up with timeless Maine footwear stalwarts GH Bass & Co. for a new take on their classic Weejun penny loafer. Bass has a long history of unwavering commitment to old-school workmanship that's quickly becoming extinct in the US, and these iconic American loafers have graced the feet of bold-face gents from James Dean to the moonwalking King of Pop. McNairy has added some youthful oomph to the ultra-preppy, 73-year-old shoes by using a bold color scheme and outlandish materials like Horween shell cordovan and alligator skin. The line starts at $300 and will be hitting Barney's shelves soon enough, so stay tuned.
