A Quick Chit-Chat with Designers Peter Pilotto & Chris de Vos

Michelle Obama donned an autumnal, sought-after Fall 2009 Peter Pilotto blouse when she visited a Bronx VA hospital alongside Jill Biden last week, and I wasted no time catching up with Peter Pilotto and his partner Chris de Vos (a former Vivienne Westwood designer) to get their takes on the well-deserved, crowning career moment.

Prior to first lady Michelle Obama's visit to the James J. Peters VA Medical Center, did you have any idea that she would potentially wear one of your designs?
We had no idea. 

What was your reaction when you saw Mrs. Obama in your Fall/Winter 2009 collection?

How do you think the first lady looked? Why do you think she chose that blouse in particular?
It's quite an impactful look -- we think she looks great in it. 

What impact do you expect this to have on your company?
We think she is a contemporary fashion icon... let's see about the rest.
