The Citizens Band Knocks Em Dead With Their Vaudeville Style Antics
By Mickey Boardman
Run don't walk to see the fabulous Citizens Band's new show "The Debt Rattle," which is playing this weekend at the Henry Street Settlement Theater on the Lower East Side. As always it's a yummy mix of political satire, vaudeville, aerial acts and amazing voices singing period songs. Karen Elson and Rain Phoenix croon a tune better than most leads on Broadway and Zoe Kravitz knocks em dead with her number as well. Sarah Sophie Flicker and Chelsea Bacon do spins and twirls above the stage and Ian Buchanan serves as emcee in the show, which borrows liberally from the classic dance marathon film They Shoot Horses Don't They. A real theatrical treat! Shows tonight and Saturday at 8 pm. Tickets are $25. Buy tickets here. For more info on the Citizens Band click here.
