Word of Mouth

And The Art Award Goes to...

By Carol Lee

Art went glam officially last night when Rob Pruitt's First Annual Art Awards took place at the Guggenheim Museum, which is certainly celebrating its 50th anniversary in style. Calvin Klein being a co-host, the affair turned out fashionable celebrities (Julianne Moore, Kylie Minogue, James Franco) alongside art stars (Cecily Brown, Nate Lowman, Daniel McDonald) as presenters, and art world big whigs (Tony Shafrazi, Mary Heilmann, Kasper König) who were also the big winners of the night. The man behind it all, Rob Pruitt presented his namesake award to the legendary Cynthia Plaster Caster, and the Delusional Downtown Divas kept the night rolling as the MCs with an intermission performance by The Fiery Furnaces. Congrats to all!
