Coco Rocha: "Next Season, I Might Be Blonde!"
By Rebecca Prusinowski
Model Coco Rocha hosted the launch of MCM's New York Collection at Saks Fifth Avenue last night, looking gorgeous in a cobalt micro-minidress and heavy kohl-rimmed eyes. The European luxury leather goods company enlisted the Canadian model to show off their latest and greatest line, pictured above. We chit-chatted briefly with Coco and can report that she's quite the opposite of a blackberry-pelting diva -- she's absolutely lovely!
Are you walking in a lot of shows this New York Fashion Week? How's it going?
I walked in Diane von Furstenberg and Zac Posen. But I've kind of been laying low for this season...
Well, you were one of the hardest working models last Fashion Week, with the runways and your upcoming TV show...
Yes, crazy!
Do you have any words of wisdom for gals or guys out there looking to change up their hair? Your transformation from red to dark brown was pretty dramatic!
If you wanna do it, go for it! Hair is hair, and if you don't like it, change it back.
Do people treat or react to you differently with the dark brown hair?
With red, it was very different. Because already I'm six foot something with heels on and I'm really drawing attention to myself. With darker hair, I feel very... goth.
Do you feel more anonymous?
Yes! At the shows, with red hair, people knew it was me. It was like, 'Here she comes!' And now, I walk by and no one knows that it was me. Especially with all the makeup. I liked it, it was great. But I love changing it up. Next season, I might be blonde!
What's your favorite bag from MCM?
There is this piece of luggage that's made to look like a vintage suitcase, but it's done in a modern way. It looks like an old-fashioned suitcase, but it has a handle you can pull up and it has wheels. It's got the orange-cognac signature logo all over it. It's amazing. [We're thinking it's the MCM logo bag above]
Do you have any post-Fashion Week decompression plans? Depending upon whether or not I have a campaign or a shoot, I pretty much go home to New York or Vancouver and eat as much bread as I possibly can!
