MM's Facebook Friend Joshwa Beau Makes a Splash in the Next Magazine Swimsuit Issue
By Mickey Boardman

Mr. Mickey meets all kinds of interesting people on facebook. One of his favorite new friends is an aspiring fitness model from Short Hills, NJ names Joshwa Beau. Josh has only been modeling for a few months, but he's already creating a sensation. He's featured in this week's Next Magazine swimsuit issue shot by Troy Phillips and Akimitsu Sadoi. Click here to check out some drool-inducing outtakes. Mr. Mickey asked Joshwa some probing questions about his nascent modeling career because after all, PAPERMAG's blog is known for its in-depth reporting!
Read Mr. Mickey's compelling interview after the jump...
How long have you been a model?
I've been modeling since April 2009.
What made you want to get into modeling?
Well, earlier this year I had gotten out of a long-term relationship and lost my job at Godiva at the same time, so I wanted to try something different that I wouldn't have done in previous circumstances. I am also interested in pursuing a career within the entertainment industry (I currently attend NYU's Tisch School of the Arts) and I thought that modeling would be a great way to start.
Do you consider yourself a fitness model?
I think the term "model" entails someone who has lots of experience working in front of the camera. Since I just began modeling recently, I consider myself to be more like, "a model-in-the-making."
Tell us about the shoot. Were there any swimsuits you thought were too skimpy?
All the swimsuits were quite skimpy, though tasteful nonetheless. It was lots of fun trying them on!
You're very popular on facebook. Have you met any fun fans? Crazy perverts (besides Mr. Mickey)?
Sometimes I get friend requests from people asking if I would like to be adult films -- it's flattering, but I don't think my parents would approve.
