A Quick Chit-Chat With Hollis Wakeema
By Rebecca Suhrawardi Austin

Hollis Wakeema's catwalk strut is quite the memorable one. She is always energetic and makes the clothes come alive; even at presentations where the models are instructed to just stand and pose, she just stands and poses with energy and life. Once chatting backstage at Chris Benz, she shared her thoughts on fashion and the economy. "There are just fewer shows in general, even some of the bigger designers pulled out. And its not all for lack of money, it's just maybe the way they feel about the economy, personally. Like Vera Wang, she's a huge designer and she pulled out. I think maybe just out of respect for America as a whole -- this is a difficult time, people are losing their homes and people need to feed their kids."
