Brigid Berlin's Genius Needlepoint
By Kim Hastreiter

OH MY GOD. I just saw the AMAZING needlepoint pillows that are going to be featured in Warhol sidekick Brigid Berlin's upcoming art exhibit. As many may know, Berlin's OCD has manifested itself in many ways over the years, but this is the most fabulous, smart and hilarious use of this type of obsessive energy I have ever seen. I'M DYING TO GET ONE (I don't even know if they are for sale!). The show opens October 21st at Glenn Horowitz Bookseller and Art Gallery (50 1/2 E. 64th St.). Check out these tabloid pillows.

I worked at the Factory '85-87 and Bridget used to do her needlepoint while she worked at receptionist and her dogs Fame and Fortune ...her stuff was amazing then...I appreciate the heads up and will myself there to see those pillows!

These are beautiful. But I have my doubts that these were all done by one person. Did Brigid do the design, the painting of the canvas, and all of the stitching all by herself? If so, she is an incredible talent with an energy level and focus beyond belief. In any event, whether they were all done by one person or were a team effort, they are stunning.

Brilliant idea by Brigid! But, highest kudos must go to Woolworks Needlepoint NYC for creating the designs. A tremendous collaborative effort!!

It is not genius on the part of Brigid Berlin-in fact, it is fraud. She did not design these pieces, nor did she stitch them. All were designed by Woolworks, NYC. As were the pieces in NYSD, most of which are our proprietary designs. Her fraudulent representation that she created the needlepoint is absurd. We have photos and documentation of everything. Even of the crime series for Dominick Dunne. Brigid has never designed a needlepoint piece in her life.

Brigid has never claimed to have designed the pillows, and I was with her when she needlepointed some of them, so sorry to bvurst your angry bubble, Andrea, but you are way off.

Brigid did claim to have designed them. She said in an interview that she traced them. She did a few stitches in 2 of them. The rest were stitched by Kandy and Bob.
