Word of Mouth

Rocking Out at Charlotte Ronson

By Alexis Swerdloff

Just returned from Charlotte Ronson's early morning fashion show, which was quite the spectacle. The front row featured Lindsay Lohan, Samantha Ronson, Sean Lennon, Emma Roberts and Cory Kennedy, and the photographers were literally losing their minds. The clothes were lovely -- much more grown-up and sophisticated than usual, with fitted knits, wispy floral patterns and boyfriend blazers galore -- which makes sense as this was Charlotte's first show in Bryant Park proper. One of our favorite things about the show though, was the music, courtesy of her brother Mark Ronson, who was perched above the runway in a light yellow button-down (a good spot to watch his girlfriend Daisy Lowe walk down the runway) cranking out the tunes. From songs by the Pipettes to I Blame Coco (Sting's daughter Coco's band) to Elastica, he kept the good times rolling with one sweet jam after another. But our favorite on the set list was "Two Doors Down" by the Mystery Jets, which he played towards the end of the show. The song very much captured the vibe of Charlotte's show, and it's currently blasting through our headphones, putting us in a happy mood on this otherwise sort of gloomy day! Listen to it here.
