About Last Night... The Metal Magazine Launch Party

Aprés the National Underwear Day event last night, one of my stylist friends scooped me up and took me to a fun little fiesta at the Dactyl Foundation Gallery on Grand Street. The party was a celebration for the launch of a fashion magazine from Barcelona called Metal that brought out a cute, funky crowd. And rather than just oooing and aaahing over publications in hand, the magazine put up a little gallery showing of all the photographs from the magazine (think Larry Clark, Hanna Liden, etc.) I have to say, it is an excellent magazine -- great photography, the right balance of highly-editorial and wearable fashion, and paper stock so heavy it was juicy to touch. The mag is available at American Apparels in New York and Los Angeles in addition to specialty book shops.
