Midtown Cornered Style: Apprentice Star Turned Tie Designer Kwame Jackson
By Zandile Blay
WHO: Kwame Jackson, former Apprentice star, current tie designer
THE LOOK: The shirt is H by Tommy Hilfiger. The suit is by Linus. It's a German brand and they are based in SoHo. They make great, well tailored off the rack suits. The tie is Krimson by Kwame, of course. This one is called Paris and I love it because of the star-burst pattern.
WHERE WE FOUND HIM: Macy's Herald Square flagship store, by the Krimson by Kwame tie rack.
ABOUT THESE TIES...: "I actually started this line way back in 2004, but it wasn't until I met my business partner Corwyn Thomas, that the ball got rolling on the project. I picked the name because of the crimson and cream colors of my alma mater, Harvard Business School, and the colors of my fraternity Kappa Alpha Si. Krimson by Kwame definitely echoes the spirit and style of many of the well dressed men who belong to the fraternity including Bob Johnson and Johnny Cochran.
AND AS FOR THE CUSTOMER RESPONSE: "Well I've been standing here for about ten minutes and already eight men have come up to the ties and bought at least one. One of them actually wanted to buy seven ties but there weren't enough on the floor and in stock. If that's not an example of customer demand then I don't know what is."

Comments
Very cool. The ties have a very unique look. I like them. I always admired Kwame's signature style on Apprentice so its nice that he is bringing that to the masses. I'll definitely purchase some for the men in my life.
