Julia Frakes Takes on Paris Fashion Week: Sonia Rykiel's 40th and Checking in with Colette
By Alexis Swerdloff

Sonia Rykiel; her daughter, Natalie; and their recently appointed creative director, Gabrielle Greiss paid tribute to the 40th anniversary of Madame Rykiel's eponymous (and ever ebullient) label by unfettering a flurry of beaming, twirling, skipping, bubbly girls -- and yes, even Snejana was smiling -- modeling star-encrusted T-shirts, briefs, and minidresses especially created for the momentous occasion. Some of the twinkling masterpieces even flaunted the semblance of Sonia herself; all whilst the 1968 (the same year as she established her company) Beatles anthem "Revolution" blared overhead.
The jubilant extravaganza begins at the 11 minute mark below.
Meanwhile, I've been squeezing in as much Colette as possible before they "lift their tuchas" with the help of Masamichi Katayama on July 7. Perpetually Lanvin-bijoux-clad Colette über stylist Mathieu convinced me to take a few of their exclusive Sonia anniversary straight-from-the-runway frocks for a whirl.

Daah-jaaam they were heavy: quite literally 15 pounds a piece! The latter mini was a wee bit big; but I'm head over heels for the t-shirt and jupe!

Could someone please tell me which are the other songs at the Sonia Rykiel show, besides the one from the Beatles?
