Restaurant of the Week: Bar Milano
By Kathleen Squires

Fashionista foodies and cocktail connoisseurs don't flock to this Milan-inspired social spot simply to be seen, despite the fact that the trappings make it a great place to pose like an international supermodel. The crowd comes primarily for the impeccably-tailored Italian cuisine from the team behind 'ino, 'inoteca and Lupa. Using its marble walls, elegantly modern furniture, wine lockers and consistently buzzing vibe as a runway, Bar Milano's menu showcases a collection of delectable little starters like uni and scallop carpaccio drizzled with Meyer lemon ($14) and smoky grilled octopus with a bitter radicchio flourish ($14). Haute mains include caramelized scallops accessorized with caviar, fava beans and mint ($25). Then there's handmade tajarin threads woven with plenty of butter, garlic, ramps and breadcrumbs ($17); and delicate ravioli draped over tender shreds of osso buco ($20). First-rate libations, like the Veneto (Aperol, limoncello, freshly squeezed lemon juice, clover honey syrup and chilled prosecco, $13), also make a grand entrance, donned in custom-designed glassware imported from Poland. All-purpose hours (open breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and late-night) make this spot especially ready-to-wear-in. 323 Third Ave., 212-683-3035.
