Eight Items or Less: PS 1's Summer Lineup, Solange Knowles' Birthday Party and Colette's New York Pop-Up
By Alexis Swerdloff

1. PS 1’s Summer Warm Up Series (now in its tenth year!) just announced its stellar summer lineup. Folks like LCD Soundsystem, Au Revoir Simone, Metro Area, Neil Aline, James Chance, Matthew Dear and many others will be DJing and performing live in the PS 1 courtyard amid luscious vegetation and chickens (yes, chickens!) thanks to this year’s Young Architects Program winners WORK Architecture Company and their Public Farm One (see photo above). The fun begins July 5 with a Nublu-hosted extravaganza.
2. Solange Knowles (sister of Beyonce -- but a very talented and soulful singer in her own right!) held her 22nd birthday last night in the Hollywood Hills where she rocked out with Pharrell-protogés/Harvard grads Chester French.
3. Joining the ranks of Aesop Rock and The Crystal Method, Chicago-based DJ and Producer A-TRAK releases Running Man: Nike+ Original Run today exclusively on iTunes.
4. Prospect Heights eatery James (605 Carlton Ave.), courtesy of husband/wife duo Deborah Williamson and Bryan Calvert, opens tonight. The restaurant serves seasonal American fare (the semolina-crusted zucchini blossoms stuffed with peekytoe crab sounds yummy) and the walls feature mirrors from the original Plaza Hotel.
5. Colette, the ultra-chic and ultra-curated Parisian boutique that we just can’t get enough of, is opening up a small pop-up shop next to the Gap flagship store on 54th and Fifth Ave. from Sept. 6-Oct. 5! (via Fashionista)
6. DJ Mom Jeans, aka Danny Masterson, aka a 2008 PAPER Beautiful Person, is DJing with Max Wowch at Santos' Party House tonight at 12 a.m., following the Todd DiCiurcio (also a Beautiful Person!!) “Synthesis” opening.
