Eight Items or Less: Aziz Ansari's Office-bound, Heather Mills' Perry-Street-Bound and Love As Laughter's Beauty-Bar-Bound
By Alexis Swerdloff

1. Aziz Ansari, who we’ve been gushing about since 2005, is set to star in the much anticipated Office spin-off.
2. Heather Mills is reportedly moving into Richard Meier’s see-through 173 Perry Street. So when you're stuck in traffic on the West Side Highway, take a peek!
3. On August 8, to celebrate the start of the 2008 Summer Olympics, Howard St. (and Olympic-themed) boutique Opening Ceremony will be open for 72 hours -- straight! Should be ridiculous and amazing.
4. Former PAPER cover girl Charlotte Gainsbourg is starring in Balenciaga’s fall/winter campaign. And here's a little preview... (via WWD)

5. Love As Laughter, the brainchild of musical genius Sam Jayne, is playing “unplugged” next Tuesday at Beauty Bar (231 E. 14th St.) from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. in celebration of their new album Holy.
6. It's a little Sufjan-y, but Christian Kiefer, Matthew Gerken and Jefferson Pitcher have recorded an album featuring 43 songs, one for each past and present President of the United States. Folks like Bill Callahan (of Smog), Jamie Stewart (of Xiu Xiu), Califone, Marla Hanson and James Jackson Toth (aka Wooden Wand) lend their vocal stylings to the record. The album, titled "Of Great & Mortal Men: 43 Songs For 43 Presidencies," is out on Sept. 9 and they plan to write a song about our 44th President (fingers crossed!!!), and releasing it as a download, in November.
