Eight Items or Less: The Ting Tings Dominate the Charts, The Yard Rocks Gowanus and Nick Walker Is Not Banksy
By Gary Pini

1. It's a hit! The Ting Tings' song "Shut Up and Let Me Go" shot up to #11 on iTunes chart and went onto the Billboard Top 100. It's the tune that is featured in the Apple ad at the top of Papermag.com. You can find out more about the UK duo in the June/July music issue of PAPER.
2. It seems like there's never a dull moment over at the Rockstar Games offices. The Wall Street Journal reports today that several former employees saw "firearms around the office, including sniper rifles, AK-47s and other weapons" and saw an art director "walking around the office pretending to fire a shotgun as a joke."
3. Here's a great set of photos using Legos to create Star Wars images and recreations of classic photography including Charles C. Ebbets' shot of construction workers having lunch while sitting on a beam over Rockefeller Center in 1932. (via animalnewyork)

4. An obscure German techno group has pushed Madonna's “Hard Candy” out of the top of the British album charts after only one week.
5. While you wait for Gowanus to become Bowery-ized, go to 388 Carroll Street, aka The Yard, on Sundays from 6 to 9 and hear DJs like Roy Davis Jr., King Britt and Afrika Bambaataa.
6. Nick Walker is not Banksy.
